Patagonia is known the world over for its fly fishing. What sets Estancia Tecka apart is scale and privacy: 435,000 acres of private land, over 100 miles of rivers, creeks, and lakes, all inside a single property. No public access, no other outfitters, no shared water.
Two rivers run through the ranch — the Corcovado and the Tecka — joined by countless freestone stretches and spring creeks, all holding brown and rainbow trout. At the heart of it all sits a massive private lagoon holding trophy-sized trout, where 10-pound fish are far from rare.
The range of water is the point — this isn’t a one-technique property. On a given week you can throw large streamers into deep runs and, a short ride away, work dry flies with total precision on a small technical creek, or sight-cast to a monster trout cruising the lagoon. Fish two weeks straight and you still won’t repeat a beat — that’s how much water there is to cover.
Estancia Tecka has been an Orvis-Endorsed Lodge for over 20 years, almost since the lodge itself began in 2001 — one of a small number of operations in Argentina to carry that distinction.
